Defining the Issues underpinning the transatlantic relationship

In the second Transatlantic Initiative workshop, held on June 23, 2021, NextGen Network members broke into small groups to discuss four key issues at the heart of the transatlantic relationship: democracy, economic opportunity, sustainability, and technology. These focus areas were selected as the most important issues currently facing the U.S. and Europe based on the results of the pre-workshop survey.

In their small groups, participants were tasked with exploring one of these issues and creating five recommendations for strengthening the transatlantic relationship in that issue area. A member of each group was then invited to author a paper expanding on one of the recommendations they created.
